The PACT Plegde

When Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati died in 1925, he left behind a quiet yet powerful legacy of charity—one that even his own family only fully discovered after his death. Today, you are invited to continue that same mission: a revolution of love lived in the ordinary.

What is THE PACT?
THE PACT is a simple commitment to change the world, one act of charity at a time.
All it asks is this:
– Pray the Prayer for the Courage to be Great each day
– Perform one small act of charity daily

Nothing complicated. Just faith in action, every day.

Why THE PACT?
The name comes from Pier Giorgio’s own desire to be united with his friends in prayer and charity. In a letter to Isidoro Bonini on January 15, 1925, he wrote:
“I wish we could make a pact that transcends earthly and temporal boundaries: a union in prayer.”

In his reflections on charity, he reminded us of something essential:
“Our religion is founded on charity. Without it, everything would crumble… We cannot truly call ourselves Catholics unless we live by loving God with all our strength and our neighbor as ourselves.”

His sister, Luciana, recalled that he always carried with him the Hymn of Charity of St. Paul. Only after his death did people begin to uncover the depth of his love: giving away his bus fare and walking home, helping others find work, inviting friends to Mass, comforting the sorrowful, slowing down for the weak during hikes, giving his coat or shoes to those in need, and offering joy even in the simplest moments.

There was no grand formula. Only this: put others first.
He once asked, “What would life be without acts of charity?”

His life is a challenge—and an invitation. Holiness is not complicated. It is lived in small, faithful acts of love.
