Known for his joyful faith and service to the poor, Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati inspired a Swiss prayer group to produce a film about his life titled Ein Leben für Andere (“A Life for Others”). Released four months after his 2025 canonization, the film premiered at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.
Told largely through the perspective of his sister Luciana and portrayed by Swiss seminarian Nicolas Koch, the film highlights Frassati’s ordinary yet deeply loving holiness—especially his love for family, the poor, friends, and God.
The premiere was attended by his niece Wanda Gawronska and Fr. Juan Manuel Gutiérrez, whose miraculous healing from a torn Achilles tendon was attributed to Frassati’s intercession and contributed to his canonization. Fr. Juan described the healing as sudden and medically unexplainable, and emphasized that Frassati’s life ultimately points to the transforming power of friendship—both human and divine.

The Frassati Society Philippines, in partnership with the ReKnew Your Faith Program, has officially commenced its annual devotion to St. Joseph. From February 1 to March 15, members are praying the Seven Sundays of St. Joseph, reflecting on the Seven Joys and Sorrows of the foster father of Jesus. On February 14, the community also began the 33-day preparation for the Consecration to St. Joseph, which will culminate on his feast day, March 19.
As part of its outreach efforts, the Society, through its social arm Lingap Bayanihan, will visit Hospicio de San Jose on March 7, 2026. The event will include a Mass and program with the residents, and volunteers are invited to participate. For more information, interested individuals may contact AO Gyle Comendador or Clark Antonio, Executive Director of Lingap Bayanihan.

In Madrid, collaborators of the Society will celebrate a Holy Mass in honor of St. Joseph at the Monasterio de Jeronimo del Corpus Christi on March 19, 2026. This will serve as the culmination of the 33-day preparation for the Consecration and coincide with Fathers’ Day in Spain.
The Society has also been observing Via Crucis “Frassati Way”, reflecting on Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection through the meditations of Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati. Plans for a Lenten recollection and pilgrimage are underway. Updates and details can be found at www.frassatiphilippines.org.
